This complete do-it-yourself kit comes with everything you need and has step by step instructions on installing your system so there is no need to hire an installer. It's Auto-start feature automatically starts the DVR recording as soon as you plug it into a power outlet and the systems starts up. This is a great feature in case the power goes out while you're away as the unit will start recording automatically when power is restored so you don't have to be there to turn it on.
Expandable System
This 16 channel DVR with 8 cameras leaves you 8 open channels to expand your system as your home or business expands. Compatible with any camera that has (or can be adapted to) a BNC video connection. The board supports cameras up to 480TVL.
Access Your Live Video Feed via Online Computer and Smart Phone
Access your live video footage remotely from an online computer using Internet Explorer and your iPhone™ or BlackBerry™ smart phone. You can also set the DVR to send you email alerts whenever motion or video loss events occur. An 'always on' internet connection is required and, depending on your network setup, port forwarding may be required.
Record Weeks of Video Footage
The 500GB hard drive stores weeks of video footage* and is designed for high capacity writing, which ensures long life and accurate data storage. The DVR will alert you when your memory space is full and you can set it up to overwrite the older data or stop it from recording so you can backup your footage.
H.264 Compression
H.264 is advanced video compression technology that provides outstanding video quality but saves 50% of hard drive storage space over traditional MPEG-4 compression.
CCD Cameras with Night Vision
This kit includes 8 Sharp™ 420 TVL CCD cameras, each with 12 night vision IR LEDs that activate automatically when it gets dark or when the lights go out. All mounting hardware is also included.
Motion Detection
Control the motion detection settings for each camera individually. You can set motion detection on or off, adjust sensitivity, and overlay a motion grid over the image to "block out" sections of the image that you do not want to trip the motion sensor. This is useful for not setting off motion detection in images with busy backgrounds such as a busy street, or if a ceiling fan is in the picture.
